Matt Steele is a senior program manager on the federated identity team at Microsoft, primarily focusing on the protocols and user experiences for the next release of Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS). He has been in the software development industry for the past 10 years specializing in identity management, access control, and federation. Before joining Microsoft, he served as a consultant to a variety of U.S. defense and intelligence agencies on designs for PKI, SAML, and directory deployments.

Mark Wahl, CISA
Architect, Identity and Security Division
Microsoft Corporation
Mark Wahl, CISA, has 19 years experience in enterprise directory, security, and identity management systems. He is co-author and editor of the LDAP protocol specifications; implementer of the first LDAP firewall; designer of the directory service products used at many major companies worldwide; architect for the Sun directory products; and is currently an architect for Microsoft security, identity and access management products. He also taught information assurance and computer security auditing at the University of Texas at Austin, and has spoken at industry conferences in the U.S., Europe and Asia on the future of enterprise identity management. |

Nathan Muggli

Nathan Muggli joined Microsoft in 1998 and has been involved with Active Directory since that time. Currently his role is a Senior Lead Program Manager in the Active Directory Product Group managing a team focused on Windows 2008 R2 and Future planning. During Longhorn he was the project manager for Read-only Domain Controllers and contributed to several related distributed systems technologies. |

Antonio Navarro
Partner / Chief Executive Officer, Symlabs
Antonio Navarro joined Symlabs as a partner in May 2001. He now serves as president and chief executive officer. His responsibilities include setting strategic direction for the company and asserting its leadership in directory infrastructure and identity management software.
Mr. Navarro brings with him extensive experience and expertise from Sun Microsystems as well as a previous role as the Internet architect of Vizzavi, the Internet portal collaboration of Vodafone and Vivendi. In his professional service experience, Mr. Navarro was actively involved in the migration, modification and setup of network architectures for portals and Internet services for telecommunications operators, Internet service providers, insurance companies and online banking services. He designed the system architecture for an Internet portal consisting of more than 800 servers, implemented an LDAP directory, designed standard rack-based network components and automatic installation processes.
Mr. Navarro has a master's degree in telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and completed his thesis on "Automatically Deallocated Distributed Shared Memory" at the Technical University of Denmark. |

Brian Desmond

He has been a Microsoft MVP for Directory Services since 2003 and is the author of the upcoming Active Directory, 4th Edition from O'Reilly. Brian Puhl is a Technology Architect in the Identity and Access Management team of Microsoft IT, responsible for the internal forests which support Microsoft's 60,000+ employees. He joined Microsoft just after the release of Windows 2000 and was the primary Active Directory support engineer during the Server 2003 and 2008 dogfooding and release cycles. |

Dean Wells

Dean has been working in the information technology industry since 1987. His roles & experience have been varied and include software development, training, systems security consulting and enterprise-systems design & implementation. Wells has been training and presenting for about 15 years and has hosted hundreds of technical training courses for end-users and Microsoft technical staff alike. He is also a frequent speaker at popular industry events such as NetWorld Interop, TechEd and the The Experts Conferences. He has been working with Active Directory since its early beta releases in 1999 and was later awarded Microsoft's MVP designation in Directory Services and Security. Most recently, Wells joined the Directory Services product group at Microsoft where he now works as a Senior Program Manager. |

Gil Kirkpatrick

Gil Kirkpatrick is a well-known expert in the design and development of large-scale distributed software for enterprise networks. He is Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and has more than 27 years of software development expertise. He is a recognized authority and renowned speaker on commercial network directories, including Banyan StreetTalk, Novell eDirectory, and Microsoft Active Directory. In his previous position as Director of Engineering, Kirkpatrick was responsible for the development of directory management products for NetPro and served as the architect and lead engineer for its flagship product, DirectoryAnalyzer. Kirkpatrick joined NetPro in 1994 when the company acquired his previous employer, High Technology Systems. He is the author of Active Directory Programming, published by MacMillan USA.

Guido Grillenmeier

Guido Grillenmeier is a Master Technologist within the Advanced Technology Group at Hewlett Packard. Based in Germany, Guido deals primarily with global Windows infrastructure deployments for large enterprise customers. His current focus is helping HP customers to make a smooth transition to 64-bit Windows and Windows Server 2008. Guido has often spoken at Quest’s Experts Conference (formerly DEC) and has been a speaker at various other Microsoft-technology related conferences, such as Microsoft Tech-ED, IT Forum and Windows Connections. In the last few months he has been leading the development and delivery for HP's Windows Server 2008 Academies to HP’s own Services division. He has been a Microsoft MVP for Directory Services since 2004 and is the co-author of “Microsoft Windows Security Fundamentals” (Digital Press).

Jan Macherzynski

After joining Microsoft in 1999 Jan Macherzynski focused mainly on directories and messaging technologies. After Microsoft acquired Zoomit 2001, he changed his focus to Identity Management and Metadirectory Services. Back in 2003 he was part of the team doing the world’s first production MIIS deployment. Currently he is an Architect Consultant, acting as a leader of Identity and Access Management team in Poland. He and his team are delivering solutions locally and across the region. |

Jeremy Palenchar is a Senior Infrastructure Architect at Avanade, Inc. where he focuses on Directory Services and Identity Management. Jorge de Almeida Pinto is a Senior Consultant within Oxford Computer Group and is based in The Netherlands. He has been active in ICT since 1997. He worked 2,5 years for OGD as a technician, 8,5 years for CMG/LogicaCMG/Logica as an Infrastructure Consultant and started working for Oxford Computer Group in may 2008 as a Senior Consultant. He has worked with Windows infrastructures since 1997, and he specializes in Windows Server and Active Directory. He is MCSE certified and has been an MVP for Directory Services since 2006. Kevin Kampman

Kevin Kampman is a senior analyst for Burton Group Identity and Privacy Strategies. He covers identity and role management, directory services, provisioning, and electronic commerce. Prior to joining Burton Group, his duties included systems engineering, engineering management, integration and development, and project management with AT&T, Control Data Systems, Compaq/DEC, NCR, and TRW. From 1998 to 2007, Kampman managed Burton Group’s Identity and Privacy, Security and Risk Management consulting teams in their interactions with enterprise customers. With over 20 years of experience, Kampman was a past chair of the Directory Services and Collaborative Computing Work Groups at the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), a Michigan-based consortium of over 1,500 manufacturers. This work led him to being named two-time recipient of the AIAG Outstanding Achievement Award for contributions to the industry. He also co-authored All About Network Directories, published by John Wiley and Sons. Kampman is currently engaged with a international community of organizations chartered to develop a shared perspective on identity services. |

Markus Vilcinskas is a technical content developer on Microsoft’s Identity and Access Management User Assistance team. After working for several years as technical consultant, he joined Microsoft in 1999. For the past six years, he has been involved in many Directory Service and identity-integration related projects. His expertise includes researching and documenting product features and functionality. He also develops and documents solutions for both common customer scenarios and more specialized solutions tailored to customer environments. Vilcinskas is a regular contributor to the ILM newsgroup on www.Microsoft.com and can be reached through that forum if you want to discuss ILM related identity management issues or solutions. |

Peter Steiert

Peter Steiert is working in the area of Identity Management and Public Key Infrastructures since 2001. In this area he is always focusing on simple and user friendly integration of cryptography into existing workflows. At E.ON IS he is currently working on combining existing workflows to and from external organizations together with strong encryption. Within this, he is confronted with different interoperability specifics coming from PKI, directories, etc and has to implement interoperable services and solutions. |

Robert DeLuca

Robert DeLuca joined Microsoft in 2000, and is currently a Senior Program Manager on the Windows Server Customer Engineering Team. He provides architecture, design, and deployment guidance on identity technologies to Microsoft's largest and most strategic customers, and uses these customer experiences to ensure requirements are being addressed in future versions of Windows. Prior to joining the Windows Server group, Robert specialized in Active Directory and Exchange Server as an infrastructure consultant in Microsoft's Federal Government consulting practice.

Tomasz (Tomek) Onyszko

Tomek Onyszko is a Senior Consultant with Microsoft Services in Poland. He works mainly as a directory services\identity management consultant with customers in Poland and across Europe. He has been active in IT for more than 10 years. Starting in 1999, he was a system administrator at a local ISP and also worked with various IT companies such as HP. His technical background includes various technologies and duties with proven hands-on experience not only in the Windows world but also in managing, designing and deploying infrastructure for various customers. In 2000, he discovered directory services technologies (anyone remember MCIS). Since then his main focus is on directory services and identity management. Onyszko is very active in Polish (but not only) communities and before joining the dark side he was twice awarded as an MVP in the Directory Services technology area. He has co-authored three books (in Polish) and has had speaking engagements in various IT events in Poland, also on internal MS conference.
